A multi-round national challenge for metal detector enthusiasts. Competitors earn points through a range of activities to climb the leaderboard. Activities that gain points include growing Karma in the Realm app, posting on social media, and more. Five finalists from each round will be invited to compete in the Race to the Realm Finals, gifted brand new Minelab detectors, and challenged to compete for the $100,000 grand prize. 

Starting May 28, 2026, you can enter the Race to the Realm. Download the Realm app if you haven’t already, and create an account. Click the bottom right RTTR tab in the app (which will appear once the event launches) and click JOIN THE RACE. From there, you’ll be directed to register and access your Race to the Realm dashboard in the Realm app.

No, you don’t need to purchase a Minelab product to participate in the Race to the Realm. 

Some points are automatically applied to your total, like when you gain Karma in the Realm app, your points rise in the game. Challenges that earn more points require a little more effort. Click on the various ways to earn points in your game dashboard to see what steps are required. 

Points gained by collecting Karma in the Realm app or purchasing and registering Minelab products roll over each round. Your total score determines your round ranking and your overall leaderboard position. 

Each round is 28 days long, and there are no breaks between rounds.

• Round 2 June 25-July 22

• Round 3 July 23-August 19

Five detectorists from each of the 3 rounds (15 total) advance to the U.S. Race to the Realm Finals in Fall 2026, where they will be invited to compete in various metal detecting challenges to test their skills in the real world. From these challenges, one will conquer the Race to the Realm and take home the grand prize of $100,000.
